Geek Chic: The Timey Wimey Collection

Image property of Geek Chic Cosmetics
Within the last year, I have been turned onto the amazingness that is the Doctor Who universe. This universe is extremely well woven and very intricate, there's just so much to learn and watch! And once you get into it, you're done for.  I've had this set a little while, and I use it quite often! The colors are complex and beautiful, and I adore the names.

Pictures after the jump, very picture heavy!

Samples come in Clamshells

Swatches!!
Yes, Sir - GC describes Yes, Sir as "A cool, blue-toned red matte base, shifting with a bright wash of blue interference and accented with a handful of icicle blue sparkles." It seems way more pink than red to me, and  is a stand out color! A hot pink/red with a VERY noticeable blue shift!!  :P Absolutely gorgeous,  I don't have one like it in my collection, I am in love :)

We Are Coming - GC describes it as a "Rich, velvety milk chocolate gleaming with shifting golden copper highlight, studded with a moderate scattering of ruby and sapphire glitter." A very nice, satiny deep brown with a  coppery red-orange metallic shift and blue glitter. This would make one poppin' eyeliner with Sexy in Suspenders! The blue glitter and the copper shift played with the sunlight and I kept catching a green gleam!

Sexy In Suspenders - GD describes it as "A pale fawny satin with a bright, unlikely blue highlight and chock-full of blue and purple sparkles." Well I think this taupe is a game changer for all taupe's. I am head over heels for this shade! It's a gorgeous light toned taupe with an in your face blue shift that you wouldn't expect! I sure didn't see that coming when I bought it! I was very pleasantly surprised!

Don't Blink: GC describes as"This eyeshadow is quantum-locked; under the gaze of any living creature it ceases to exist and becomes this gorgeous, sparkling silver tinsel. Incredibly sparkly and festive, brimming over with silver, holographic and iridescent glitter in a silver base." A very glitzy cool toned silver that is very attention grabbing! Would be great in a silver smokey eye!

Bigger On The Inside : GC describes it as" Oh, that box. Big and little at the same time, brand new and ancient - and the bluest blue ever. TARDIS blue, glowing with metallic golden light from the heart of the time vortex, and glittering gold sparkles"  Me. Smokey dusty blue with such a gold sheen that it appears green or dark teal colored at times.

Untimely Love: GC describes it at "An unlikely pairing, Untimely Love is a dusky blackened maroon base lit with a vibrant, vivacious spring green glow" I think this is a nice darkened red with a light green shift that really pops out in the right angles. It reminds me of a few pressed shadows I have from MAC and Wet n Wild. This would look really great with a corresponding green to bring it out even more!

Bad Wolf : GC describes is as "A rich pearlescent royal purple woven with soft golden iridescence, studded with sparkling golden gems. So opulent you probably shouldn't stare directly at it, or you might need a Doctor." Love this color! Sometimes the purple peaks out at you past the gold gleam, othertimes it looks muted with the colors playing off of each other. A really interesting combination here.

Exterminate! : GC describes it as "They might be all flashy and primary coloured now, but we remember Dalekanium as this rich coppery bronze, metallic and shining with its power restored, with a scattering of red sparkles as tribute to the new paradigm, and the Supreme Dalek." This color has a high golden copper reflect over an warm bronze base. Looks great applied wet for a bold look, would be great for summer!

Overall: Geek Chic delivers again, great colors and great quality! My favorites are: Sexy in Suspenders, We Are Coming, Yes Sir, Bad Wolf, and Bigger on the Inside.

  1. Great swatches! Geek Chic is my #1 favorite brand for eyeshadows. I have all of these colors, but haven't worn all of them yet. I need to pull them out and put them to use! (Sexy in Suspenders is freaking AMAZING -- my favorite one-color wash shadow!)
